Conscious Colour

Colour makes a difference - in fact, there are entire multimillion-dollar marketing campaigns built on manipulating colour effectively. To convey mood. To drive emotions or reactions. To influence & sell.

Our attachment to colour is sub-conscious, developed through lived experience (inherently sensed) or through association & conditioning. We understand value derived from a swipe of red on the bottom of a shoe, anticipate the tanginess of a sunny glass of orange juice, relax deeply in the dark blue of the lake or the fresh green canopy overhead.

Understanding colour and colour theory not only allows us to signal meaning, but reinforces our core beliefs about ourself, our space & our potential. Are we bold? Are we demure? Do we have our shit together or are we chaos incarnate? Join us over the next few posts as we consider the power of colour in image and design.
